What is PKHeX?

PKHeX is a powerful Pokemon save editor integrated directly into Afterplay. Edit your Pokemon saves without external tools - all changes are made in real-time while you play.

Pokemon Editor

Edit any Pokemon in your party or boxes.

Basic Information

• Species - Change to any Pokemon available in the game
• Form - Select alternate forms (Alolan, Galarian, Mega, etc.)
• Level - Set level from 1-100
• Nickname - Give your Pokemon a custom name

Attributes

• Gender - Male, Female, or Genderless (where applicable)
• Nature - All 25 natures available
• Ability - Choose from the Pokemon's available abilities
• Held Item - Equip any item

Moves

Edit all four move slots. The editor shows move type and lets you search for any move available in the game.

Stats

• IVs - Individual Values (0-31 for each stat)
• EVs - Effort Values (0-252 per stat, 510 total)
• View calculated stats based on level, IVs, EVs, and nature

Ribbons

• Toggle individual ribbons on or off
• Set All Valid - Add all ribbons that are legal for this Pokemon
• Remove All - Clear all ribbons

Legality Checker

The editor shows whether your Pokemon is legal or illegal. If illegal, it displays the specific issues (invalid moves, impossible stats, etc.) so you can fix them.

Trainer Editor

Edit your trainer profile and game progress.

Basic Information

• Trainer Name - Change your in-game name
• Gender - Male or Female (Generation 2+)
• TID/SID - Trainer ID and Secret ID

Game Progress

• Money - Set your balance (with max button)
• Play Time - Hours, minutes, seconds
• Badges - Toggle individual gym badges
• League Points - For Generation 9 games
• Watts - For Sword/Shield

Inventory

Manage all your items across different pouches.

Pouches

Items are organized by type:

• Items (general consumables)
• Key Items
• TMs/HMs
• Poke Balls
• Medicine
• Berries
• And more depending on the game

Actions

• Add Item - Add any item to your inventory
• Add All Items - Fill your entire inventory
• Add All in Pouch - Fill the current pouch
• Adjust quantities for individual items

Pokedex

Track and edit your Pokedex completion.

Filters

• All - View every Pokemon
• Seen - Pokemon you've encountered
• Caught - Pokemon you've owned
• Missing - Pokemon not yet caught

Bulk Actions

• See All - Mark all Pokemon as seen
• Catch All - Mark all Pokemon as caught
• Clear All - Reset your Pokedex

Individual Entries

Toggle seen/caught status for each Pokemon individually.

Add Pokemon

Create new Pokemon from scratch to add to your party or boxes.

1. Search for a species by name or number
2. Select the Pokemon you want
3. The Pokemon is created with legal default values
4. Edit further in the Pokemon Editor if needed

Supported Games

PKHeX supports Pokemon games from Generation 1 through Generation 5 (Game Boy through Nintendo DS).

Hardcore Mode

PKHeX editing is disabled when playing in Hardcore Mode for RetroAchievements. This ensures achievement integrity.
