Overview

Afterplay supports Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (WFC) for DS games. Games that originally had online multiplayer can now be played online with other players.

Save State Compatibility

To support online play, the DS emulator uses an updated BIOS. Save states created with the old BIOS may not load with the new one.

Your in-game saves (SRAM) are not affected — only save states.

How to recover your save states

If your save states won't load after the update:

  1. Go to Settings > BIOS and click Install Legacy BIOS in the Nintendo DS section
  2. Load your save state with the legacy BIOS
  3. Save your progress in-game (not a save state)
  4. Change your save settings to Latest In-Game Save and open the game to confirm it loads correctly
  5. Remove the legacy BIOS and set your save settings back to whatever you prefer

The legacy BIOS option is temporary. Once you've migrated your progress to in-game saves, you can remove it and continue with the new built-in BIOS.
